In 2017, Ben went down to Nashville to talk to producer Joe Corker at a bar. Ben was recommended and spent most of 2017 traveling back and forth in Nashville to record with producer Queen Redmond (Steven Day, Sawyer). Ben's debut album "Midwestern Comfort" was released in May 2018.
After several years on the road, Ben's plans came to a halt in 2020, along with the rest of the world. He began composing daily at the Nashville Apartments and later began recording albums with producers Noah Needleman (Brett Young, Alan Stone). Ben Wagner will release a single every month in 2021 as part of his new project INNER STATE.
Ben Wagner - Blessed Midwest
lyrics
I am worn, I am weary
Traveled far, now retreating
I've longed for this place, longed for this place for so long
I lay me down, I lay me down, I belong
I breath in
The air fresh
From the blessed Midwest
I am held
By the forest
Where I go for rest
I am washed
By the waters
Of Lake Michigan
And wherever I go
I will return again
To my home
The blessed Midwest
I am torn, I am bleeding
Seen many soles, many holey
Remember their face, remember their faces hold on
Till we meet again, til we meet again go on
I breath in
The air fresh
From the blessed Midwest
I am held
By the forest
Where I go for rest
I am washed
By the waters
Of Lake Michigan
And wherever I go
I will return again
To my home
The blessed Midwest
Woah
I breath in
The air fresh
From the blessed Midwest
I am held
By the forest
Where I go for rest
I am washed
By the waters
Of Lake Michigan
And wherever I go
I will return again
To my home
The Blessed Midwest
