Backstreet Boys
A five-member American musician boy group. One of the best boy bands of all time who discuss the best beyond the world. Without the Backstreet Boys and N-Sync and their predecessor, New Kids on the Block, it is safe to say that countless boy bands in Korea and around the world today could hardly have existed. Ironically, however, in the United States, where Backstreet Boys, N-Sync, and New Kids on the Block were born, the era of idol dance groups ended in 2001, and pop culture has been developing more than dance groups so far in 2022. A group that was the beginning of teen pop music, one of the genres that was popular around the world from the mid-1990s to the early 2000s. Although it did not receive much attention in the early 1990s due to gangsta rap and rock, teen-pop music with the taste of teenagers and 20s has also become a trend in the pop music industry since they began to be very popular. It can be said that it is a super boy band that has made a mark in the pop music world. It was formed in 1992 and debuted in 1996 with an album called "Backstreet Boys" with the same name as the group. Originally a five-member group, it was led by Kevin Richardson and consisted of five members, Nick Carter, Brian Litrell, AJ McLean, and Howe Doro. Each member had his ups and downs and the group's leader Kevin Richardson withdrew in 2006 due to personal reasons, but rejoined in April 2012. It is a rare case that even though he is an idol, he has been continuously active until the 30th anniversary of his debut and until the 2020s without changing members. Although he released many great songs such as As Long As You Love Me, Everybody, I Want It That Way, and Shape Of My Heart, the most familiar song to the general public was THE ONE, which was inserted in cm in a beer commercial featuring Won Bin. Local listeners interested in pop music in the 1990s may be more familiar with As long as you love me, but by this time, the local pop market was completely dead due to changes in the times and various reasons, so many ordinary listeners in Korea knew the group with this song. Later, Hanada Boys History, a Japanese animation, also used it as the theme song. Compared to N-Sync, a rival boy group of Backstreet Boys of the same era, dance and singing are generally less powerful, but the lyrics are more emotional and resonate with young people. Indeed, it is the ultimate king of boy band history and an exemplary example that suggests the way for boy bands to ultimately go.
